So what is a ceilidh? Pronounced ‘Kay-lee’, it has roots in the Gaelic language and roughly translates as ‘Gathering’, or as we prefer to put it, ‘Party’! Think good old fashioned barn dances with attitude! They are becoming more and more popular for weddings and parties, because no matter how good you are at dancing, you can always have a great time dancing at a Ceilidh!

    I can’t figure out how to buy tickets online. A load of us want to come to the event on 29th Jan. do you know how I can buy tickets in advance.

      Hi Laura, thanks for the message. The Folk House have taken down their online ticketing pags for some reason, hoping it’ll be back up again soon, thanks for letting us know! We’ll let you know when this has been resolved and thanks for your patience!

    Hi Ed. Dave here (Brewery Band). I took a poster to Frenchay Folk Dance club, and quite a few people wanted to know if they could pay on the door. Is that possible, or do you need to know numbers and receive payment in advance?

      Hi Dave, we will have tickets on the door but at £12.50. Best bet is to get a few people together and get them online from Bristol ticket shop, (only one postage fee then) or in person from the folk house itself, as then there’s only a 50p booking fee.
